Castella cakes are inspired from egg sponge cakes which can be found in Danshui, Taiwan. With the rising love for castella cakes, Ah Mah’s Homemade Cake which started in Malaysia finally made its way into Singapore after much success back in Malaysia.

The Original flavour castella cakes are sold at $8 per box while the Cheese flavour castella cakes for those who enjoys a savory treat are sold at $11 per box.

Our verdict: Those who love savory cakes would definitely enjoy the cheese flavor! If you still like your classic sponge cake, opt for the original flavor! We also heard that the latest addition, the Marble Castella Cake infused with chocolate is out on 4th March! We’ve yet to given it a try, so stay tuned for our verdict!

Other than castella cakes, Ah Mah’s Homemade Cake also offers castella rolls! What’s unique about this is that you’ll get the chance to diy your very own castella rolls! Choose from the 3 base they have – rich chocolate, fragrant pandan and earth seasame. After that, simply choose a spread – kaya coconut, crunchy choco. cream cheese or strawberry!
