As its name suggests, these furniture are made with rattan. Rattan is among the strongest wood, and can grow up to a hundred feet. It has a strong core unlike bamboo, giving it its durability. Rattan furniture are prone to fading under sunlight, so it is more suitable for indoor use.

Wicker Furniture

Unlike Rattan furniture, Wicker is not a material, but a type of weaving technique. Material used can range from willow, rattan, straw, synthetic materials and more. Thus, whether a wicker furniture is durable or not depends on the material used. Do pay attention to its material especially if you’re purchasing chairs as you want to make sure the seat is durable for daily usage. 

Wicker furniture are less prone to fading under the sunlight so they are suitable for both indoors and outdoors.
